Privilege to be invited to present to development & environment NGOs in London the work of the Public Good Narrative Project. Inspired by how these great organisations are working to come together in common cause, to not only get through this moment of crisis but to seize this moment of opportunity.

Violent is not a synonym of powerful:

The irascibility and aggressiveness of the US government (abroad and now at home) is in part a reaction to the *decline* of US power.

And it is *further accelerating* that decline.

If a person asked AI to
(1) take the UN logo
(2) reduce the map to not much more than the US, Canada, Greenland and Venezuela
(3) put it on a school shield from an old American high school movie
(4) dip it in gold paint
then the result would be the logo selected for the Board of Peace.

This is not the only or main reason for leaders to speak out but the audience reaction we are seeing in real time shows that there are elections that could be won on this.
Western leaders are finally pushing back, and their publics are loving most those who doing it earliest, clearest, and loudest.

They want to hear their leaders reassure them that we don’t have to kiss the boot that kicks us.

“At the start of this new year, we are all discussing the many crises the world faces. And quite rightly. But this is not only a time of crisis. It is also a window of opportunity…”
⬇️
At the start of the year, our Co-Executive Directors reflect on a key shift: global public investment is moving from idea to action. With shared risks growing, this is a moment to be bold and build stronger international cooperation.

Thank you Madhukar Pai, MD, PhD 🙏

Wonderful to be in this august company of change-makers.

Every fight against inequality has been an unfair one, and yet sometimes we win. The book is a guidebook to help people win that fight, together.
We are in an era of rising authoritarianism, fading multi-lateralism, & increasing human rights violations

But peoples movements have challenged power in the past

Successful movements, as these books show, are about organizing, growing communities, and building power among people to effect change

Read, learn, gain hope. Speak out. Act. Mobilize. In addition to the below, many of which I’ve read over the past years, learn from history and biographies: Gandhi, Mandela, MLK, White Rose… 👇
