New York City FC knock the Supporters' Shield-winning Philadelphia Union out of the MLS Cup Playoffs!

NYCFC vs. Inter Miami for a spot in MLS Cup next week.

The Whitecaps could only host MLS Cup final if NYCFC wins the East.

#VWFC v San Diego/ Minnesota in the West final.

NEW: Lionel Messi is in exceptional form and it's hard not to think of Inter Miami as major MLS Cup favourites right now.

Could another Messi v Müller showdown be looming?

My player ratings from Miami's win tonight.

New York City FC go up 1–0 in the 27th minute against the Supporters' Shield champion Philadelphia Union.

A brilliant team goal to open it too.

NYCFC are the only team that the Whitecaps could host in an MLS Cup matchup.

Inter Miami advance!

Lionel Messi is in some of his best form for Inter Miami right now and had three assists and a goal in a 4-0 beat down of FC Cincinnati tonight.

He has 6G/6A in four playoff games this year — record for single MLS playoffs.

The press from Jordi Alba here, and the pass and run from Lionel Messi are exquisite.

Mateo Silvetti with a dime of a cross too after starting ahead of Luis Suárez.

Messi is up to six goals and three assists in the playoffs.
November 23, 2025 at 10:49 PM
Despite Javier Mascherano saying Luis Suárez would likely start, the Uruguayan is out of the Inter Miami XI tonight.

A formation shift too for the Herons against FC Cincinnati.

This one should be fun with Messi and co. vs. Evander, Denkey and the rest of Cincinnati.

NEW: Thomas Müller texted his Whitecaps teammates about breathing techniques. He called the win the "brutal beauty of our sport."

Mathias Laborda couldn't hear his teammates on the pitch.

NEW: The clash between the Vancouver Whitecaps and LAFC was one of the wildest soccer matches I've ever watched.

So many moments it could have fallen either way.

A quick hit for @SInow on all the craziness.

Son Heung-min, eh?

You can take the man out of Tottenham, but you can't take the Tottenham out of the man.

Anyways, Whitecaps off to the Conference Finals for the first time in club history.
November 23, 2025 at 5:47 AM
That's the greatest win in Vancouver sports history.
November 23, 2025 at 5:41 AM
🗻🚀VANCOUVER WHITECAPS SLAY THE DRAGON!

Somehow, someway, the Vancouver Whitecaps see out the final minutes of extra time and 9 v 11 and beat LAFC in the penalty shootout.

There's no CBs for the Conference Final, but absolute bedlam at BC Place.

What a match.
November 23, 2025 at 5:40 AM
Lloris saves Ocampo.

And we go on.

What a fucking soccer game.
November 23, 2025 at 5:38 AM
Andy Moran scores.

Ocampo steps up to be the hero.
November 23, 2025 at 5:38 AM
Ryan Gauld SCORES.

3-1 Whitecaps after three rounds.

On the verge.
November 23, 2025 at 5:37 AM
Marky Delgado takes a dreadful penalty.

Wow that’s terrible.

Michael Bradley flashbacks.
November 23, 2025 at 5:36 AM
Denis Bouanga scores his kick.

Jayden Nelson does too

LAFC 1-2 Vancouver after two rounds.
November 23, 2025 at 5:35 AM
Son misses,

Sebastian Berhalter scores.

Round one done — advantage Vancouver Whitecaps.
November 23, 2025 at 5:33 AM
Son Heung-min hits the post to start the shootout.
November 23, 2025 at 5:32 AM
Off to penalty kicks we go — the Whitecaps got there despite playing 9 v 11!!!

Who shoots? No Müller or White.

I’d go: Gauld, Berhalter, Badwal, Nelson, Laborda to start.
November 23, 2025 at 5:26 AM
The soccer gods might actually be on the Vancouver Whitecaps' side.

How have LAFC not won the match in the final moments?!
November 23, 2025 at 5:25 AM
Don't think Halbouni is going to continue.

The Whitecaps will have to push for penalties with nine men against 11.

Nine minutes and stoppage time to go.
November 23, 2025 at 5:15 AM
Belal Halbouni goes down injured and will have to go off at least temporarily with the trainer coming on.

It will be 11 vs 9 for at least a few moments.

The Whitecaps are out of subs.
November 23, 2025 at 5:13 AM
About as good as you could hope for the shorthanded Whitecaps in the first period of extra time.

Another 15 to go.
November 23, 2025 at 5:05 AM
Thomas Muller comes out of the game ahead of extra time.

Jeevan Badwal in.

Must have picked up a knock, or something...
November 23, 2025 at 4:49 AM
Rubiel Vazquez, who has refereed the Whitecaps vs. LAFC match tonight and Canada's 2-0 win over Venezuela last week has given three red cards.

None have been VAR reviewable as there was no VAR in the friendly and Blackmon's was a second yellow.
