yes. but now that you mention it it's interesting the magical girl genre uses the pact thing pretty often but with a marketable mascot and it's own norms about that relationship

I feel like witches in popular culture have become too divorced from the concept of a demonic pact. like their magic is often just inherent to them but pactslop faustian bargaining is kinda deeply interesting and I wanna see more things that explore the potential of that kind of relationship 🤔

but this sucks bc the idea was just to make characters who mostly were like humans but who functioned as an analogue for angels and demons in the sense that they could fall and be exiled under certain conditions (like sankta from arknights basically) so it feels weird to do this,

but tbh I realized I'm missing a lot of the appeal of the idea of demons and witches to me if I just avoid that entirely so now I have to design demons that are more demon than my demon looking ocs. I need to make some faust/mephistopheles type pactslop yuri

my ocs look demonic sometimes but I hate worldbuilding so I have avoided making them actually function like irl conceptions of demons too literally bc I would have to figure out why an entire separate class of beings exists and get their origin lore to check the boxes it needs to thematically
