We are inmersed in info from energy collected by enhanced sensory systems. So far the success of integrating this info so that it makes sense is promising due to increasing the amount and quality of the info that enable a few useful interpretations between pure questions. It seems the only way.

Single photons in the double slit experiment cannot avoid interfering with virtual photons. For me an emerging interference pattern is not surprising.

Internal/external is a false dichotomy here. Parts of the Universe intercept information of the Universe and interprete that as external, and itself as internal. There is nothing but the Universe.

Both use language as substrate of information that is derived from sensory data.
The real difference is the vast amount of data LLMs are scrutinizing. Their understanding could be superior already.

LLMs may be technically stealing data like students who don't pay college fees. This difference is irrelevant for learning.
Both LLMs and humans exploit their intelligence to understand collected data.
Both are obeying natural laws.

The concept of a good God is questionable. That idea may have been evolutionarily advantageous, but evolution is not only aimless but also amoral.
Morality, I believe, is a human creation based on logic.
Moral disasters do not fail to occur when logic is not respected.
