Salty about reinventing my social media presence multiple times and hoping this one sticks.
Now I really wish I knew how to knit (I had someone tell me to "stick to my knitting" recently, but I don't think that's what they literally meant).

There are a lot of things you can do to help right now, even if you are too burned out/overwhelmed/far away: prologuist.blogspot.com/2026/02/feel...
Feeling Helpless? Here are Some Things You Can Do Right Now
I've had a lot of messages from out-of-Minnesota friends asking "What can I do to help?" Others, even here, are feeling like they don't know...

No one but theater geeks care about the MN One-Act competition...but call me flabbergasted that they are actually letting a "Nazis were people too" piece compete right now — especially with the cast holding an on-stage prayer circle before the play starts.

A bunch of high school kids, including my daughter, remind me why theater is so very important:

It's The Good Bits I Find Hard to Talk About
The MSHSL Competitive One-Acts are A Thing that did not exist when I was in high school. Every January, schools compete with 35-minute-or-le...

Did you call your senators yet to tell them not to vote for DHS/ICE funding in the current bill?

Please do NOT reach out to anyone in MN right now with the salutation "I hope this email finds you well." It doesn't.

I'm going to a funeral this morning for someone I babysat for, at a time when my state is unjustly occupied — and I burst into tears this morning because the dress I put on comes from a shop I loved that had to close last year. So yeah, so far Jan26 makes Mar20 look like a cakewalk.

It's looking like the kind of winter where I'm going to need some new boot liners because I'm going to be standing in cold streets a lot.

A photographer I know just documented a whole bunch of clergy getting arrested at the airport.

Here's the deal with a 5-year old. They love their families. They still believe that they need to do what adults tell them. These monsters know that and used that preschooler as bait. I can't even.

My friend Pam gives, in her usual eloquent style , a glimpse of life here right now.
You wouldn't believe how hard it is right now in Minnesota. But you need to believe it. 💔

Wishing that MN funders, like MSAB, would note that conditions are not really conducive to getting work done right now and extend some deadlines....

I don't publish "work blog" posts as often as I likely should, but this information about postmark date changes is important!

Want to give something to your friends who are also colleagues but $ is low this time of year? Take a look at their "Skills" on their Linked In profile and see if you can endorse any of them (but only if you have experience with them on that, of course!) I just did, and it was very appreciated!

It’s the 11th of December. The 10th is the day my mom went into the hospital for the final time in 2006. It’s now been 1/3 of my life. Every Single Year I wonder why I suddenly feel so down right about now. Some things just get ingrained into the psyche.

My PSA for the day is that having a furnace red-tagged over a long holiday weekend is every bit as miserable as you would expect, and furnace replacement is Really Expensive....
