Has Anyone Really Been Far Even as Decided to Use Even Go Want to do Look More Like?
January 28, 2026 at 9:30 AM
My heart goes out to those impacted by the terrifying winter storm encroaching on huge swaths of the US this weekend, as well as to those whose cities have been invaded by our lawless, fascistic, murderous federal government.

I’m not a good photographer but I took these photos at a local Safeway the other day. Trying to make a point to live in the present and appreciate small things like readily available fresh, nutritious groceries. Trying to hold the good close because I don’t know how much longer we’ll have it 😕

And therefore it doesn’t matter who is elected in the meantime? Come on.
January 6, 2026 at 4:48 PM
Exactly what I was thinking. Have a rotating group of interns who come in early every day and put it back up again, if necessary. What, are the cops gonna stop them? How often do Dems have cops on *our* side?
January 6, 2026 at 2:49 PM
Maybe this just shows how much of a California bubble I’m in, but after watching the latest season of Loot I have to ask, do Delaware accents *actually* sound like that? I mean, how do you even describe an accent like that?
January 6, 2026 at 2:44 PM
It takes both. For laws to change, we need elections, period. Organized action outside of the ballot box is of course an integral part of change, both because it raises awareness and political will in voters, and because it puts pressure on lawmakers.
January 5, 2026 at 11:20 PM
I agree that the latter is the real problem. I don’t have a problem with people complaining more about Jeffries *if* their goal is fundamentally to stop Republicans from continuing their destruction. For some I think this is the case. There are some though who actually would just burn it all down.

Brunching* blah
January 4, 2026 at 11:20 PM
“But Steffani, why didn’t YOU PERSONALLY stop the American military from invading your country??”

Probably too busy eating avocado toast or bunching or something.
January 4, 2026 at 11:19 PM
Wonder if Steffani will still feel this way if Trump annexes Canada and now Canadians are Americans too.

Oh, annexing Canada would be illegal? You mean like how voter suppression and intimidation are illegal? Like how an attempted coup of the government is illegal?
January 4, 2026 at 11:19 PM
And to be clear I agree both that the official statement isn’t strong enough and isn’t enough on its own. A better statement would have been more unequivocal in its condemnation of Trump’s actions and also would have been more concrete about next steps for Democrats.
January 4, 2026 at 11:13 PM
I can’t speak for the person who responded to you, but fwiw I am interested in hearing about proposed strategies. I think they are worth discussing and I think Democratic leadership needs to do a better job of considering some of the strategies I’ve heard in various contexts.
January 4, 2026 at 11:12 PM
Ahhh, gotcha. For sure I agree that people shouldn’t be expected to police public behavior purely on account of kids (any more than they should police themselves on account of just basic kindness/respect for others). Parents who expect that get a giant eye roll from me. Best to you as well 🫶
January 4, 2026 at 9:19 PM
and contribute money when I can where I feel it will make a difference etc. But aside from running for office myself (not in the cards at least at this point in my life) what else can I do? As someone who voted in 2000 as a poli sci student I am DEEPLY skeptical of third parties…
January 4, 2026 at 9:00 PM
I think where I struggle with these analogies is that while they certainly make sense, I’m not sure where they leave us. I, as a voter, am definitely pissed off at many Democrats and disappointed in the party as a whole. But where does that leave me? I support the best candidates I can in primaries/
January 4, 2026 at 9:00 PM
Is the concern that he made a statement instead of doing some specific thing (if so, what?) or that the statement doesn’t use strong enough words? If the latter, which words would have made what kind of a difference and how do we know that?

TO BE CLEAR I am not defending Jeffries but asking a Q.
January 4, 2026 at 8:55 PM
Ooh good idea, stealing that one
January 4, 2026 at 8:45 PM
Huh, yet another accusation that looks like a quote and yet isn’t. Almost like there’s a pattern to how you construct your “arguments.”

It’s like you haven’t even taken a few minutes to consider that there are things in the world you don’t know or understand.
January 4, 2026 at 8:45 PM
I’m not sure who you are talking to with this? I’ve literally taken my kids to drag brunch and I’m firmly anti-shaming of any kind so I think maybe your irritation should probably be directed elsewhere?
January 4, 2026 at 8:41 PM
Your comments are also weird. What is with these bizarre lefty dudes today
January 4, 2026 at 8:39 PM
Your comments are so weird. I’m not “defending” any particulars about the Biden administration, and you continue to misstate what happened, because it is demonstrably false that they “decid[ed] not to prosecute” him given that they literally DID, even if not when and how you think they should have.
January 4, 2026 at 8:38 PM
No, I was pointing out that he can’t read people’s minds, and neither can’t those authors 🤷🏻‍♀️

It’s one thing to argue that the an indictment should have been brought more quickly. It’s another to attribute a specific motive to a perceived delay.
January 4, 2026 at 8:36 PM
This might come as a surprise to you, but I am aware that other people share that guy’s opinion. I mean, there are over 8 billion people in the world, hard for anyone really to have an original thought.
