The nicest goddamn dame that ever lived. 📍Twin Cities transplant

There are quite a few states that have laws about political deepfakes already, but I think many of them (NY included) have exceptions for AI disclosure (which sucks, IMO).
Oh my god - and the combo of *actual* food and the smell (and being yelled at!). That feeling of realizing adults can be fully GROSS.
The discovery of halitosis is an oddly specific memory/event that I don’t think we talk about enough. Or..I don’t know. Actually, we probably don’t need to. But I have a similar memory around 4th or 5th grade.
4 trick-or-treaters so far! 😭 This year is worse than the Covid years!
So good!! We just had our 1st two - I hope more are waiting for the rain to slow down. Regardless, I gave them both HANDFULS of candy 😅
Important update on the Menards bucket of Kale...(don't worry - it will still be consumed...in its third life, as it were)...
Mmmm yes...the good kind of pepperonis
In honor of the day, here's a moody illustration I made on Halloween 10 years ago when I was living in Chicago, between jobs, playing around with Photoshop at a little coffee shop. I miss doing these little vignettes just for fun, hangin out all day in a new neighborhood somewhere cozy. 🖤
I have used Adobe products for 2 decades, but damnit, I am going to have to give Affinity a try now that it's 0 dollars (while keeping my Adobe sub...that just increased) b/c how could I not? Adobe cost sucks, the BLOAT has become insane, and the all-in-on-AI attitude is such a backstab. Depressing.
I love a drizzly Halloween - it's nice and atmospheric out there today 🎃
Oh yeah...I actually have some that light up! Grabbing those STAT
My uncle dropped off the last of the kale from their garden a couple of days ago and this Menard's bucket is like the magic pasta pot in Strega Nona. Take out 1 stem and 2 more appear in it's place (doubles as fairly nice porch decor too). Anyway, if anyone needs kale...
GAH!! So, this is SUCH a tough one for me because (even though it's prevalent in Sinners and Weapons) body horror is front & center in The Subs and I am NOT a body horror fan. BUT - I *loved* Demi Moore. I really really liked Marg Q. The story was fun! I loved the color & style! But oh, the gore...
My dream scenario for your friend’s kid is that this influence is embraced and leads to a group of 4 and 5 year-olds putting on the best damn interpretation of Koyaanisqatsi this town (and that daycare) has ever seen
Oh my god I love that - and it makes sense! I can totally see how the cinematography (among everything else) would capture a little one’s attention.
Haha - it's a relatable story at just about any age and Hedgehog is such a lovable little character! Goes much harder than Caillou, and I would appreciate that if I had a 3 y.o.
Me at the end of a long day
Norshteyn's "Hedgehog in the Fog" is one of my all-time favorite stop motion animations (particularly great for this time of year) and you can watch the whole thing here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFUi...
My first thought too - definitely a blast from the past to see that popup
Equally crazy, but not quite as good, IMO
OMG - The Joy Formidable is coming to The Parkway!
If the rumors are true, I’m kind of going to miss the Minnesota Rusco jingle.
I had been saving Sinners for a late October watch and wow - it was SO GOOD. 12/10 (at least)!! Unlike Weapons, I found every piece of the experience (casting, character dev, world-building, storytelling) impressive...when not downright surprising (always a delight). Still thinking about it...!
