Gas is not the effective 'bridge fuel” the fossil fuel industry claims it is. During peak energy demand, clean flexibility solutions can support renewable energy variability in a more efficient, affordable, and sustainable way than gas.

Rising temps provoke extreme weather events around the world.
🗣️And, finally, fossil fuel companies could be forced to pay some of the price of their damage to the climate, and the ultra-rich subjected to a global wealth tax, if new rules are agreed under the UN.

🇪🇺 has swapped one risky energy dependency for another by trading Russian fossil gas for US LNG, locking itself into a geopolitical trap.
The solution? Wind and solar overtook fossil fuels in the EU electricity mix in 2025, says @taraconnolly.bsky.social

Last week, the 🇪🇺 Parliament is said yes to #justtransition, with over 400 MEPs calling on the Commission to back a #JustTransitionDirective!

Only by prioritising just transition can Europe deliver coal phaseout and a future built on sustainability, climate action, and shared prosperity.
BREAKING: European Parliament backs a Just Transition Directive ✅

The EU must equip itself with strong tools to anticipate & manage change while building cohesion.

Its for workers like Rainer that the Commission must now move ahead with a Just Transition Directive as part of the Quality Jobs Act.

It’s good news for:
👍 Households, where wind energy can weaken the grip of costly gas in energy bills
👍 Businesses, who get more predictable & competitive energy costs
👍 Energy security, by reducing reliance on volatile fossil fuels
👍 Govts, showing that clean energy can be affordable & scalable

🇩🇪's gas power plant strategy is a warning, not a model.
Promises of gas subsidies put energy policy on a volatile rollercoaster, ultimately ending in failure.
Prioritising renewables, storage, and clean flexibility offers a faster, cheaper, and more secure path to energy security.
