In CA we primarily vote by mail or drop our ballots off at a nearby library - we're dropping ours off this weekend.

$350 mil \ 90k sf + 12k sf (east wing) = $3431 / sf

To build a high end custom home in San Diego, high end = $600 / sf

A high end commercial building = $1000 / sf

A high end industrial building = $800 / sf

If they are licensed contractors, they should lose their licenses for doing demo work w/o a permit

Nowhere in the US is that allowed on a historic structure unless under emergency reasons (fire, earthquake...)

I know the "owner" bears responsibility for the permit, but the owner didn't hire them!!

$40 mil will barely cover cleanup - it'll take billions to replace all those homes and repair roads & infrastructure. He only gave $3 mil to North Dakota - which is a band-aid on a broken arm.

If it was originally planned to be 90,000 sf and now we're also rebuilding the East Wing... which is another 12,000 sf - now we're at 102k sf = approx $3,000 / sf - which means it's going to have a lot of gawdy furnishings in it because it doesn't cost $3000/ sf to build something.
