Our 4th history post if from BHA's HIVe Programme Lead, Richard Scarborough.
Richard shares his first memory of BHA from a fundraising event in 1997. He has worked alongside BHA for some time as a local commissioner before becoming a formal employee last year.
Our 3rd history post is from BHA's Director Of Service Development & Delivery, Jeni Hirst.
Jeni, having been with BHA for over 30 years, shares an important insight into the growth and struggle we have faced during our long history. One of these moments was in 2007 when BHA was expanding to Leeds.
In partnership with the Ahmed Iqbal Ullah Race Relations Centre, we explored this year’s Black History Month theme, Standing Firm in Power and Pride, through the lens of Black LGBTQ+ history, HIV awareness, and community activism.
Thank you to @lgbtfdn for organizing the event and creating space for several charities to share the work they are delivering to make inclusion a reality for everyone
Great to connect with councilors and MPs at the Labour Party conference, where BHA shared why health inequalities in vulnerable communities remain a priority
