Why do programmers make great entrepreneurs?

Because it is imprinted in their psyche early on that:

1) When a system doesn’t function properly it's always the responsibility of its designer

2) No matter how many excuses you come up with to feel better, the outcome won’t change
Android lists all countries on locale settings except mine (Greece). 😂

Guys I'm honestly not making those stuff up...

Even the gmail app is better on iPhone. 😭

Dear @bsky.app why can't we edit our posts ? It sucks being forced to live with typos. 🙁

Oh damn! There are maybe more than 40 settings you have to turn off to get a normal phone.

By default Google tracks even your phone calls !!!!
Every single setting on the phone is "wrong" by default.

And the worst is that you get to pay for all that... 😂

I'm using a Google Pixel for 10 mins. It is obvious why Apple is a huge company.

- Dark mode & tiny letters by default during setup. No way to change it
- A trillion tracking shit you have to decline
- Once you get to the home screen there is no way to get to your apps or settings

Claude doesn't search the web frequently. You usually have to ask it explicitly.

You get worse responses. But it is so much faster that you often spot the problem faster than chatgpt 5.2.

Trying out Claude's Opus 4.5 with mirrored prompts thrown at chatgpt's 5.2 thinking.

Chatgpt usually gives more "complete" responses but at a time premium. 5 to 10 minutes compared to 5 to 10 seconds for Opus 4.5.

Claude/Opus: wins for small technical problems.
ChatGPT/5.2: far better for research

For some time now I just asked AI to summarize articles for me because there is no time for all the content I come across daily.

But I noticed that I'm missing 80% of the juice that way. You can't compress experience and wisdom.

You can't tell if the article is worth reading just by AI's summary.

HappyByte today started a tradition to donate to a different open source project every year.

The winner for 2026 goes to our all time favorite: Firefox. 🦊

The browser who set us free from the IE6 monopoly and changed internet forever. On to many more happy years FF!

I have no idea who is the CEO of Digital Ocean, but I'm certain he/she is a tech person.

From their content marketing to the way they do support, it is obvious that the entire company was structured like that by a dev or admin.

Of course they'd have crazy growth.

Most people say "I've failed".

But the best approach is saying: "I have more data now".

Apple has stopped offering security updates to people who refuse to update to ugly-iOS 26. If your phone doesn't give you the option to update to 18.7.3 you are affected as well.

Switching to Android/Linux ASAP. Zero trust for Apple after this.

Amazing analysis on the rapidly changing market landscape.

TLDR: Gains for big players providing infrastructure and small players narrowing it down on verticals using an AI-first approach.

Yes, an AI bubble will disrupt those dynamics. But only temporarily.

People absolutely hate quality products.

(when they realize that they cost more to make)

And you know what ? Computers used to be/can be very fun.

But spending 50mins of an hour, waiting for some beta-quality chatbot to respond with some "maybe" answer is so very boring and irritating to the bone.

Screw X% more productivity. I want my fun workflow back!
After about one year of daily use of chatgpt and other chatbots for work/technical purposes, I've decided to change my approach.

I will now use chatbots simply as a better google and stop expecting them to come up with correct solutions to the problems I'm facing.

They ain't ready for that yet.

Start sacrificing "pieces". Like in chess.

Ignore market segments. Ignore customers who are not the right fit.

Make it very scary for copycats. Make it impossible for them to even understand what you're doing. They are amateurs most of the time anyway.

If people around you support your business idea, then your idea is likely some kind of "small incremental improvement" which won't persuade anyone to switch.

People hate change. If your idea is truly disruptive, expect many to hate it.

Remember. It took 30 years for the floppy disk to die!

Through misleading and vague notifications and popups, apple is now practically forcing it's failed new "glass" design on people.

I'm already researching de-googled android flavors & corresponding hardware.

It takes years to build trust. One absolutely wrong decision, to destroy it.

First hour with 5.2: Trying to solve an authentication/cookie issue.

5.1 seems to understand better the context and provide better explanations. 5.2 tries to enforce irrelevant "best practices".

Memory off in both cases.

I've been living with a new Dell 32" P3225QE monitor, all week long. It completely changed my view on large computer monitors.

So pleasurable and comfortable that I avoid the home office with the 27" now... 😅

Love it that chatgpt 5.2 is slightly more expensive. Perhaps the market is pushing them to become a serious problem solving tool, rather than a virtual girlfriend.
