Okay my midnight secret thread. Will leave this one up for an hour because it is quite long and explains my whole quitting, unquitting, story.
As many of you know, I joke about quitting Big Brother updating or whatever you want to call it often. However, I did actually quit before Big Brother 24 started. I briefly mentioned it in the other place, and I think here at one point? The summer before BB24, I made the definitive decision not to return to Big Brother Access. I sent emails to people who needed them, contacted the other people who used to help with coverage to let them know I would not be writing or updating, and told them they were free to continue but would need to contact someone else. I wrote my notepad letter to all of the BBTwitter followers and was feeling pretty satisfied with my decision. Then, a friend who used to do coverage told me that they didn’t think I should quit just yet. They thought I should give it one more year. They sold me this grand dream of making things better for BB24, and they sold me on it. Therefore, I had to send new emails, contact people helping with coverage again, and pretend like there was never a notepad goodbye written. So I’ll fast forward back a little to explain why BB24 was almost the end. The only revenue I made from Big Brother coverage was site traffic, and that had been declining over the years. By BB22, the site was generating nothing (or so small might as well be nothing). Now, there are a lot of factors, including Google being the worst, that hurt site traffic. Big Brother coverage is also very competitive now with so many big sites covering it, then you have also podcasts, YouTube channels, TikTokers, and just so many ways to consume Big Brother coverage, and then bigger sites that get exclusives that smaller sites can’t compete with. This isn’t to knock any of those other sites or platforms that provide Big Brother coverage, it’s just to explain people don’t like to read as much anymore, especially if you don’t have an abundance of time to constantly be adding content to a site. I never started Big Brother coverage for the money (because that would be idiotic), but I am a normal person with a normal life. This means I have bills, I have obligations, I have friends and family, so I need money. So while doing Big Brother coverage, I also had to work my real-life job. So past seasons, I have been very stressed out trying to do all the Big Brother coverage possible and actually work to financially survive, or get by. I just wanted to have more time to make actual money to pay for things. Then the other factor is Big Brother 23 itself. I think if you paid any attention to when I talk about who I am outside of the Julie Chen logo, you know I am Black. And being a Black Big Brother fan has never been easy, especially watching the same story repeat itself time and time again. Then, feeling silenced about it because “don’t give opinions,” “you’re just an update account.” “Be neutral”, “don’t talk about race.” “You’re racist for even acknowledging race issues.” And all that jazz that some of us know too well. I was so excited to see The Cookout make this finally happen, but I could barely react because I know what would happen if I did, and the backlash and hate and blah blah blah. And as much as I have been more personal on the BB-offseason, especially over here on BBSky, I do try to be overall neutral with BB coverage. But that wasn’t the problem. The problem was that even if I stayed neutral and said nothing, people still sent their opinions to articles I post (on Twitter and FB), update tweets, etc. It was overwhelming to see that at a time when the world was really already a bit much (as it tends to be). To see so many in this community who couldn’t quite or want to understand why this moment was special and needed for so many. It was more vicious than some of you will even know because update accounts deal with so many disgruntled fans just because they think by updating, it’s open season to express their dissatisfaction with one thing or another. They just wanted to simplify The Cookout as racist because if white people did that, people would be mad (newsflash: genuinely look at so many other alliances). So combine not making anything from this and having to stress out about paying work, then having to deal with this intensity from fans all the time. I just finally did the healthy and smart thing and quit. Then un-quit.

It appears that Rubina has unfollowed Tucker on IG, why do you think it took her that long to unfollow, do you think they had a secret meeting in LA? So I think Rubina is a new year, new me woman. According to her subs, she said Feb was the start of the new year (Lunar new year/her birthday). I think she's been symbolically purging herself of people and things that are no longer in her life, and likely out of it for good. She archived some more Friendzzzz content + had Kimo do the same apparently. Unfollowing Tucker seemed to be the final symbol of releasing that part of her life for good. I don't think there was any secret meeting or triggering incident. Just a decision that new year, new me includes removing Friendzzzz content + unfollowing Tucker. I don't think she will unfollow T'Kor because T'kor still follows her. It T'kor unfollows, I think she will as well - unless somehow they reconcile.
