They like to disparage "empathy." Feel like it's our strongest weapon - the ability to still have compassion in this war to save Democracy. We will still occupy the same space after this war is over.

Yes!
I worked for the State of TN, then for a large ad firm up thru the 90's. Both provided excellent benefits. I began freelancing ~ 2000, and became accustomed to 1099 work. By 2005, they were all following Microsoft's lead - making everyone contract.
