Remember your favorite creator possibly might be struggling with imposter syndrome and doubt and this timeline sucks.. so if you find yourself thinking “wow I really relate to this persons work” or that persons work gives you joy, you should probably tell them. It’s a hard time to be a creative.

Okay backgrounds in comics.
So they don't bother me too much because I worked for a long time to find a way of doing them that didn't feel tedious or boring for ME (diff for others prob).
Also, style of comic has a lot to do with it.
My main rule for myself tho: At least one background a page.

Before being a streamer I used to be an environment concept artist for video games. With the current state of the world, I lost all ambition to do art. Recently though I started missing it a lot. I think I'll go back to basics and explore ways to find the spark again.

The other problem is, I think if WotC starts using AI, the number of artists willing to work with them will drop and potentially more AI will just get used later....

I'm not saying it's definitely AI, I hate the AI witch hunt shit cause it ruins the reputations of genuine artists, but choosing an artist who makes a game advertised as having full gen AI art, is stupid as fuck at best, and spitting in the face all every other amazing Magic artist at worst.
