The cost to the public purse of homelessness is £30,000 per person per year. Our vendors are entitled to in-work benefits - but working their way into housing benefits everyone in the UK.

Our vendors often face accusations of laziness. But our last vendor audit found that 23% sell The Big Issue up to 91 hours per week – more than twice the average weekly working hours.
