Once sj's team arrive at sy's ship they have to connect YQY to the main frame of the ship to open it since the doors were locked. This allows a horizontal gene transfer from the binghe ai to YQY, causing it to become more aware. After waking up from cryo sleep sy tells them of what happened
SJ's team is created after the m0be1 incident with the task of trying to determine the errors cause. SJ was the original creator of the YQY program (originally Qi, an excel program sj made in college. SJ sold off the Qi program for money but despises the fact that it was adapted to act "human")
SY fearing for his life and knowing he is next (wrong binghe would never kill him). He manually sends out a distress message after deactivating Binghe and gets into a cryopod to at least die without pain. Sj's team then gets the distress message and decides to go and see what is the issue
However SY's team left months before being aware of this and were unprepared with the possibility of a glitch in the system. Thus the base story holds out with binghe being jealous that its favorite human is starting to get together with the ship's mechanic, lqg. Cue the crew dying in front of sy
Before the main story starts the public is made aware of an incident with the M0be1 ai on an expedition which resulted in the members dying due to hypothermia because ship had an error in the heating and cooling system. With many believing the robot planned the attack in the first place

There are currently two expeditions going on at around the same time, SY's and SJ's. SY follows the original plot of space odyssey however Binghe never intentionally tries to kill SY. SJ's deals with them trying to monitor their ai yqy.
I cannot give "Our bodies, possessed by light" by MelanisticMoon enough praise. If you want an interesting twist on the daemon concept give it a chance. It is my favorite YQ and SJ fic of all time
