the shipping person at Deschutes emailed to say that they’re delaying my shipment due to temperatures and I replied back to thank them for not sending me frozen beer and mentioned offhand that their NA was a big part of my sobriety and she wrote me this lovely email back

A goalkeeper goal (with a header, no less) on the last play of the game - the whole league stage - to jump the elimination line?

That's some strong stuff.

And Real Madrid fall to ninth.

Super League resurrection chatter how soon?

Gabi Zanotti, near 41, scored the goal to lift Corinthians past Gotham and into the FIFA Women's Champions Cup final. Zanotti played NCAA D2 at Franklin Pierce + amateur USL W-League in the US (we briefly crossed paths) then 15 years of mostly domestic play in Brazil w/o many caps. Incredible story.

Spirit have announced their 2026 preseason roster.

Worth noting that Rebeca Bernal, Rosemonde Kouassi, & Leicy Santos are not listed as internationals. Spirit confirm to me that all 3 received US residency & will not count as internationals.

Laken Riley was murdered by an undocumented citizen, a tragic heartbreaking atrocity -- but her death is not the same as the deaths of Renée Good & Alex Pretti, who were murdered by the US Military -- who then lied about it and fabricated FAKE NEWS. READ MORE: tinyurl.com/y7jr8wtj
Murder, Power, and Lies: Why the Deaths of Riley, Good, and Pretti Are Not the Same
All three deaths are tragedies but only two involved lethal military abuse of power — followed by a Trump-coordinated campaign of lies and manufactured FAKE NEWS.

You simply arrest, fine and release.

I wish Democrats would start just speaking the truth:

“ICE is killing American citizens in public for exercising their freedom of speech because Donald Trump wants to be a king.

This isn’t about immigration—Trump wants to make it illegal to oppose him, and to stay in power until he dies.”

Trump didn’t flood Minnesota with federal agents because of undocumented immigrants — he did it because he lost there, hates its leadership, and wanted to remind a blue state what power looks like when it’s unrestrained. Texas and Florida, with millions more undocumented residents, were ignored.
Trump’s Immigration “Crackdown” Is a Political Occupation, Not Law Enforcement
3,000 federal agents in Minneapolis — while Texas and Florida, with far larger undocumented populations, see none. This isn’t about immigration. It’s about vengeance, intimidation, and power.

This is great from Jeff: real clarity on why Rodman's potential departure is much more of a bellwether than the handful of big USWNT names to leave NWSL, and on what her leaving would mean for the next players down that list.
The #NWSL is staring down the departure of Trinity Rodman, a rare star who transcends sports and whose exemplary play and relatable personality attracts the casual fans that the league seeks to grow, due to salary cap limitations.

The league of choice must choose its future.
NWSL faces litmus test to retain Trinity Rodman's star power
Trinity Rodman represents some of the very best that the NWSL has to offer. That's why Saturday's NWSL Championship -- perhaps her final game -- feels so significant.

Three days ago I had, for what seemed to be no reason at the time, a completely random recollection of the (objectively correct) man who threw his shoe at George W. Bush.

Now I know I was just metaphysically preparing for the good Luis Rubiales to throw eggs at the bad Luis Rubiales.
Luis Rubiales was at his book launch for “Matar a Rubiales” when his own uncle — also named Luis Rubiales! — threw eggs at him. This sentence is all somehow completely true?
