just felt very childish/childlike, and shallow.. "grab a crucifix" stuff isnt expanded on or given any relevance beyond he's a scary monster! i worry about new nightmare feeling weird or freaking me out because i knew h*ath*r l*ngenk*mp irl when i was growing up lmao, gonna give it a try tho

the acting in the first movie reminded me of the kids in the first harry potter movie tbh lol.. especially johnny depp and like nancy's mother.. i guess any deeper themes didnt land effectively for me, i thought the best part was the vfx and i guess the concepts behind the horror elements..

that's kind of why 2 is my favorite, it felt like a standalone scary movie that was a lot more competent than the first one. i dont really care about how gruesome murders are except wrt the vfx

o the bug was pretty good.. 4 was rad! i probably rate them weird because i have really specific tastes and i'm kinda comfiest letting them exist on their own terms
