Supervisor of San Francisco. District 5.
This Thanksgiving morning I volunteered with @glidesf.bsky.social and Larkin St Youth Services, in service of our unhoused neighbors and youth.

Was a joy to be joined by neighbors and city officials across SFPD and SFFD in the heart of the Tenderloin.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Today I joined residents in the Fillmore to help serve Thanksgiving dinner in honor of community leader Carmen Johnson.

For years Mrs. Johnson served Thanksgiving dinner for the community, and in recognition Mayor Daniel Lurie provided a Certificate of Honor in her memory.

Exciting news: the Fillmore is officially getting an entertainment zone!

Thanks to the dedicated advocacy efforts of community members like Majeid and Ericka, we’re making it easier to support local businesses, uplift our historic community, and celebrate culture.

We're finally making progress to cut red tape with Mayor Lurie's Permit SF initiative.

But that progress is still being resisted by a majority of the Board of Supervisors.

Thank you Mama Gs for providing Thanksgiving meals to hundreds of neighbors in the Tenderloin today! Was a joy to volunteer with so many in community, and thanks to Peter Gallotta for organizing!

Thank you to all the neighbors in Lower Haight who came out today to keep our streets clean!

Much appreciation to Molly Hayden, LoHAMNA, Civic Joy Fund, and Refuse Refuse for organizing today's cleanup, and all you do for our community.

So much fun attending this year's Fights in the Fog charity boxing event, in support of our first responders in San Francisco.

Nearly a dozen matches between SFFD and SFPD officers, and hundreds of San Franciscans cheering on.

Congrats to SFPD on winning this year, for the second year in a row!

Congratulations to Nihonmachi Little Friends on 50 years in Japantown of providing a bilingual and multicultural early-childhood education rooted in Japantown’s history and community activism.

Was an honor to celebrate with the community, and even play some Taiko for the first time!

Today, I joined @ifpte21.bsky.social and our @sfpublicworks.bsky.social workers to recognize their work that keeps our streets safe and clean.

From supporting cleanliness enforcement to tackle open air drug markets to graffiti cleanup, Public Works employees are our unseen heroes.

I started this morning off volunteering with St. Francis Living Room, which serves free breakfast to seniors from around the Bay Area every morning.

It takes all of us coming together to support and uplift our most vulnerable neighbors, and I'm so grateful St. Francis for all the work they do.

3 quick facts on the Family Zoning Plan.

The final committee vote on this legislation will be on December 1st.

Today, my office hosted a roundtable alongside the mayor and city departments, to bring representatives from SFUSD, private, and charter schools in district to discuss challenges related to street homelessness and explore ways the city can better support students, staff, and families.

After weeks of blight under the Webster and Geary bridge, the area is looking much cleaned. Thanks to quick communication from the community, my office helped coordinate multiple city teams to resolve the issue.

"Did you know Luke Skywalker was a member of the disabled community?"

I remember those words from Alice Wong the first time we met as I gave her a commendation at the Board of Supervisors.

When we listen to community, real change happens.

For the first time, the Tenderloin will have its own Youth Violence Prevention Program, and here's how it works.

Yesterday was the second Fillmore Community Action Plan community gathering, a meeting to co-create an investment blueprint for the future of the neighborhood.

But the Fillmore deserves action today, too, so we shared four recent milestones from the City...

There are more than 3,500 children and youth living in the Tenderloin who face unsafe streets, drug activity, overdoses, and violence. For too long, they’ve been invisible in conversations about this neighborhood, but today, we’re changing that.

Thank you Pacific Heights Residents Association for inviting me to your annual meeting.

I shared our office's focus on investing in both joy & safety across D5, with a focus on improving traffic and pedestrian safety in the neighborhood considering the high number of seniors in the community.

We’re making progress in the Fillmore. Today, the city received an application to create 1,800 homes and a grocery store on the former Safeway site — an important first step in the right direction.

Was an honor to celebrate Veterans Day at Glide today, while honoring veteran Malik Washington who has channeled his service into years of advocacy for food justice and veteran support programs.

Today we celebrated the life of Marlena - a beloved queer community leader, performer, and the 25th Empress of the San Francisco Imperial Court.

They owned and operated Marlena's bar in Hayes Valley and passed away last month. But their legacy lives on in the neighborhood.

We hosted our monthly coffee chat today in the Fillmore, meeting residents, small business owners, and workers in the neighborhood.

We discussed a range of concerns from noise pollution to window replacement laws, small business permitting to supporting our seniors amidst the federal shutdown.

The site of 111 Taylor was originally the site of the Trans resistance movement.

Now its a halfway house that members of the community have expressed deep concerns about health, safety and civil rights. So we launched a hearing to call the operator - Geo Group - before the Board of Supervisors.
