Ruins of the Kalamazoo Vegetable Parchment Company paper mill in Parchment, Michigan. The factory closed in 2000 and the small city was left with the responsibility of cleaning up almost a hundred years of industrial wreckage.

On a Friday afternoon walk in Asylum Lake Preserve, I saw a hawk stalking a squirrel. I didn't hang around for the finale - as a human in the area, I was interfering with the work in the kitchen.
