PERSON OF THE DAY. 5 December 1791. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart died (aged 35) in Vienna after suffering from a high fever. The parish register entry on Mozart’s death recorded that he died of “severe miliary fever” which referred to the appearance of small bumps on the skin.
