It's back to school time! Kids are excited to return to school and be with their friends, meet their teachers and be back in class. It’s been a while for drivers too!

Please pay extra attention to the busses, the flashing lights, kids and that school bus stop sign.
Yonge St reconstruction project is progressing well. The new asphalt, narrower lanes (slows traffic) & slightly wider bike lanes (improves safety) are in place. The speed reduction to 40km/hr and the new cameras are ready to go live near Mundy’s Bay School for Sept 2nd.

158th Canada Day Parade in Tay Twp. Weather was great and so was the turnout.
“Who” has awesome, talented, passionate and dedicated volunteers? Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre that’s “who” - just ask the owls! It was a pleasure to join them for their volunteer appreciate lunch today and thank them for their continuing commitment to our communities.
Margaret Hamelin’s new ice cream truck at the Huronia Museum and Huron Ouendat Village opened today and we headed over for some delicious ice cream after the Askennonia BBQ. A portion of the proceeds go to the Huronia Musuem - what a wonderful partnership! 🍦🍨

I can’t wait until next spring when we can announce the grand opening of our new splash pad in Little Lake Park! I’m so thankful that our council has approved this project.

Last night’s Candlelight Ceremony at the Midland Cenotaph, is a tradition and opportunity to remember the sacrifices our armed forces veterans made for our freedoms. We were joined by our local air and sea cadets. Let we forget.

Starting this September, just in time for our kids returning to school, Midland launches the new automated speed enforcement cameras in community safety zones / school zones. We’re kicking this safety initiative off on William Street & Yonge Street with more to follow. Slow down, save lives & money.
