Oh yeah. I always appreciate teachers that have an understanding of the context behind the writings. Someone that knows why Dogen Zenji used this particular kanji, and that he was actually quoting a specific sutra, is information I could never land upon myself by simply reading someone’s translation

Yeah, It is nice to have various translations available. In a study group we have we use the Anzan Hoshin & Yasuda Joshu Dainen translation. The differences between all of them are interesting and help get some insight into the text.

I saw "The Creator" and it featured AI as buddhist monks. Robots with shaved heads, wrapped up in the kashaya, embodying the dharma. Obviously, people are pondering the future of humanity and religion. So, when technology removes some of the causes of suffering, what about buddhist practice?
