Happy to share the first paper from my PhD! We report the discovery of a new insect-plant interaction from Borneo, where one ant-plant has evolved sharp hooked trichomes to pierce and kill lycaenid caterpillars. However, one specialist can survive and has a counter-defence!

Philip is an awesome coauthor and his lego creation perfectly summarises our paper on the emergence (evolution but also plasticity) of reproductive isolation at the very beginning of speciation!
Scientists have experimentally recreated the speciation process in several species. They split one population of the same species into two, let them adapt to environment A or B, and then bring them back together.
