If I have to hear one more "Well AkShUaLlY tomatoes are a fruit not a vegetable" I'm gonna scream

Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit, wisdom is not putting in a fruit salad.

Garden nerdiness is knowing that botanically there's no such thing as a vegetable 🌱

So lemme get this right. I can visit the Rocky Mountain National Park USA for $130 & maybe worried about getting arrested at the border for having memes on my phone

OR

I can go to a park in the Canadian Rockies for free & not get thrown in a camp

TOUGH CHOICE

Wow that's soon, they must have filmed them back to back. Can't wait to see more Jack O'Connell. I hope he does more horror, he was fucking brilliant in Sinners.
Fear is the new faith in 28 YEARS LATER: THE BONE TEMPLE. Here's a new official UK poster for Nia DaCosta's sequel, releasing in US theaters January 16.

In all the years I've been campaigning, this is the first where I've feared retaliation - but even X is not above the law. That's why we've referred X to Ofcom for horrific posts that, having taken legal advice, we believe are illegal under the Online Safety Act. goodlaw.social/wk2q

Pretty awkward that Keir Starmer is now going to have to remove the whip from Rachel Reeves, since she’s voted in favour of removing the two-child benefit cap.

The 50 wealthiest families own more wealth than the bottom 50% of the population.

How can this Labour Government say this is a "cost of living" budget and refuse to tax the rich?

They care about protecting power and wealth. And cost of living is a buzz phrase for them. Dire.

And AI is utter f*cking garbage. A proven source of disinfo and misinfo doesn't need to operate on a publicly accessible datacenter that kills the environment. They want to privately experiment with it more? Fine. But, f*ck off with the garbage public alpha test already. Stop funding it.
AI and those pesky data centers are screwing up RAM!

Today is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. This year's theme is digital abuse.

Fewer than 40% of countries have laws protecting women from cyber harassment or cyber stalking. This leaves 44% of the world’s women and girls without access to legal protection.

Every year I try give away some of the spruce trees growing at my place, I have way too many and I don't want them all. You'd think tons of people would want a free Christmas tree but they don't 🤷

Thread on things we need to research about trans men's health 👇
It's been good seeing cis allies speaking up this week. Thanks, allies! 🥰
I'd love to carry on the conversations, but remember that trans men, mascs and NB afab ppl can add a LOT to the conversation!
Things I'd like to see proper convos about:
-periods, endo and PCOS
-pelvic floor health /1

My mum was a gardener and was telling me plant names before I could even talk. Used to take me to work with her before I started school, although I was more interested in bugs then.
What’s the lore behind choosing your career path ?

My husband had indefinite leave to remain for years before we spent £3k on citizenship for him.

If we had met & married earlier, he wouldn't have been allowed in even though we were married because I didn't earn enough. Guess whose salary paid the bills?
There are proposals to cancel Indefinite Leave to Remain.
That would tear families apart — including my own.
My wife could have been separated from her children under. People like my friend Tariq, who’ve lived here since babies, could be taken from their communities.

These people are Britain.

So the F1 drivers championship is likely to go down to the last race. How amazing for the organisers to have it come down to this, they couldn't possibly have planned it better etc

Yesterday we went to see Pink Light, a short film about a trans man who loves the one thing that unites all Canadians- playing hockey.

It was so good, defo try to see it if it's playing at any film festivals near you. I think they said it's going to Vancouver soon. Then later it'll be on streaming
