I truly hope you're correct but they are federal employees committing federal crimes, all of which can be pardoned. President Biden taking the step of pardoning before any charges before he left, paved the way (I fear.) Maybe state charges for some (especially ICE atrocities) could come in to play.
I seriously hope people are keeping detailed notes on all of this regime. There will be a day when they will not be protected anymore.
