#BMHC26 Abstracts are OPEN!

BMHC26 is the official global assembly for Black maternal health, equity, scholarship, innovation, policy, & advocacy, bringing together clinicians, advocates, researchers, creatives, & community leaders addressing maternal health care inequity.
Our Alliance Convening back in September reminded us why the work that we do is so necessary.

In her reflection, SeQuoia Kemp spoke to the heart of our work: coming together not only to learn, strategize, & strengthen our policy efforts, but to reaffirm why we do this.

Public health degrees are not secondary. They are not optional.

Our work in Black Maternal Health, in community care, & in advancing health equity are ESSENTIAL public health work. The reclassification of public health degrees undermines an entire field we are part of & depend on. We reject this.

Contraceptive access is essential for reproductive justice, & it supports everyone in planning pregnancies safely & on their own terms.

Across the US, policies continue to shift, insurance coverage varies by state, & ongoing federal & state level debates continue to shape what care is available.
