it’s important to compliment artists on their pieces when they’re just learning! they’re really putting themselves out there and probably feeling vulnerable. one encouraging comment could literally be the thing they’ll cherish and reread on their bad days to motivate them to keep drawing.

You're not a bad artist. Yes, some artists might be more naturally inclined or maybe they started earlier than you, but that doesn’t make them better. it just means they’re further along in their journey. The key to becoming a “good” artist is practice. Don't give up on yourself. Practice!

As someone who very much used to be in the anti- sphere? Yeah.
I'm glad I broke out of that when I did, because holy shit, it's made everything else eye opening. I hope everyone realizes how important it is to step out of that mindset, especially now.

A lot of my followers and general sphere understands this but it's really important we recognize that even if we don't like some art for personal moral reasons, we need to defend its right to exist. We went from no rape to no cat ears in less than two months. Everyone who warned about this was right

I love and will fight for artists to the end, but I wish people would read more fics. writers put just as much of themselves into their work and don't get the same level of attention because consuming their content takes time and that is so disheartening.

A toxic fandom has the power to spoil the source, sometimes disengaing is the only way to protect your enjoyment or to regain it.

fandom can be such a vacuum that we forget that we don't actually have to put up with anything, like at all. you can mute ships, you can block people, disengage from toxic circles. you don't have to explain yourself to strangers. fandom doesn't represent the source. do whatever to remember that.

Sadly, fandoms tend to be toxic. They're full of toxic people who won't call each other out, and act like you're the bad one for going "hey actually maybe don't?".
