A useful rule of thumb:

If you can’t communicate your message to someone in two minutes or less,

and get a reaction that signifies both understanding and interest, you need to refine it til they "get it“.

We all make decisions based on our emotions
Logic is then used to justify the emotions they feel.

If listen to their needs and pain points, they'll like you more.
It shows respect and builds trust, which feels good.
Your Presentation Audience Wants Something Of Value. Give It To Them.

Can you say the main value-added of your next presentation in one sentence?

If you can, then you have a good idea of the value you're giving your audience.

If you can't, makes you wonder if your audience will get your message.
The Big Three Negotiation Principles:

#1 The Golden Rule
Treat others like you want them to treat you.

#2 The 80 / 20 Rule
80% listening, preparing, problem solving; 20%

#3 The 51% Rule
At least 51% of all negotiations are emotional.
