Things that Nioh 2 did better than 3 in my opinion:
-Much more engaging story. I think Tokichiro is a great character+it feels personal
-variety of locations. In 3 you have many areas that feel too similar because each era have their own theme, like you spend a lot of time in the snowy area

Nioh 3 convinced me that the Sengoku era is overdone and we need more Bakumatsu games. samurai warlords are cool but you know what else is cool GATLING GUNS

I forgive them for making the worst Metroid game (I'm sure it was Nintendo's fault though)
So we got a new Ninja Gaiden, a new Nioh, and we're gonna have 1,5 new Dead or Alive games.
I hope the devs at Team Ninja don't get too overworked, they have been absolutely delivering recently 😭🙏

Nioh 3 caestus makes me feel like I'm playing a fighting game and I am mashing buttons and it does cool stuff

As long as the game is fun you don't need a good story.
Also I think story is often misunderstood. In some games, your own adventure, the levels you explore, the atmosphere, the visuals... are part of the story, it's not just what you are being told through dialogues
