Many of people that think this also tend to be moderate to moderate-ish, often lower information voters who like to performatively rant against both parties. I don't think they'll repent. Perhaps others will.
Sure. That said neither Bernie/squad actually facing the task of governing a major city or leading the minority in Congress. We can't test it, but I submit they'd less popular among socialists if they were.

For better and for worse Bernie and the squad are still wildly popular among socialists, literally the only reason anyone pretends otherwise is that some socialists occasionally criticize them from the left, something that is evidently completely illegitimate in American politics
