Like it's fine to enjoy characters who are morally dubious murderers who may or may not have had sympathetic motives to do what they do, but I LOATHE the impulse to be like "I can't like a character who's morally bad, so I have to interpret their bad actions as Good so people don't think I'M bad"

The thing about James Sunderland is that “decent normal guys” kill women all the time. “He was motivated by more than sexual frustration” is true but ultimately needling about motivation is not the point.

Had to get out a little humidifier for Penny who suddenly is suffering from bad congestion 😭 it might have been an allergic reaction from the antibiotic they gave him today. He’s sounding a lot better with steroids and a humidifier but he’s going to go back to the vet if it doesn’t clear up

I figured out where the “sisters” thing comes from with Meteion in English— turns out it’s a furigana moment where she’ll *say* わたしたち but it’s written as 姉妹たち. This particularly happens when she’s communicating via Dynamis, so it gives a more nuanced impression, as if it is “felt” rather than “said”

In case anyone didn’t believe in the literacy crisis among the kids, my eighth graders loudly complained about being given a six page story and it took many of them about an hour and a half to read it. And then lots of them said they didn’t get very basic things in the story. And I’m so tired.
