There are no Snow Day’s for our Transmission and Distribution crews. They recently completed a water main repair on Joy Street despite the extreme conditions, and without the need for a Boil Water Advisory.

CBU crews identified the source of the leak in the area of S Curry Pike and W Gifford Road earlier this morning and have completed the water main repair. Despite today’s bitter cold conditions, crews completed the work without any service interruptions.

Yesterday the motor that powers Low Service Pump #4 at the Monroe Water Treatment Plant was successfully removed so it can be serviced. This 700 horsepower motor is one of four that help move water from the intake tower on Lake Monroe to the treatment plant.

The cold is here. If you have a lawn sprinkler or irrigation system, now is the time to flush the lines and winterize your backflow preventer.
