Because it’s kind of a mystery cocktail of chemicals, there’s no way for me to really know if it’s safe for dinner/drinkware without sending it to a lab to be tested. And since I can’t replicate it, I won’t bother. It will be good for sculptural stuff, vases, flowerpots, all sorts of other things.

I started used xacto blades. But I found a good 11 blade scalpel works great since they’re thinner and sharper than xactos. And cheaper to buy in bulk. Keep an eye on your moisture levels and figured out what consistency your clay likes to be at for carving.
