"That was impressive from Amari."

One of my favorite parts of Amari Williams stepping up today is that he has so much more to offer than what we saw. And if he keeps playing like this, perhaps Neemias Queta's return won't send him back to the G League.

Joe Mazzulla on the Celtics' win against the Pistons:

"To me, tonight wasn't about the execution as it was the mindset that we played with. The multiple efforts."

Joe Mazzulla on Derrick White: "Whenever he's not playing well, I get excited because I know what's going to come out on the other end of that."
Derrick White's season high is 25 points. He matched that in the second half today.

White is 7/10 from the field and 6/8 on 3PAs in the second half. The Celtics lead 113-110 with less than 10 seconds left.
Great timing by Derrick White! He went right as Cade Cunningham spun, knocking the ball free, resulting in a turnover. The Celtics have the ball and a one-point lead with under 17 seconds left.

Joe Mazzulla on trusting Baylor Scheierman:

“It's his mindset, it's his preparation. But, you know, it's the staff, it's the daily stuff that goes into it… He just cares. He wants to be good, has an understanding of what success looks like for him.”
November 27, 2025 at 1:28 AM
Baylor Scheierman points to effort and team-wide contributions as the keys to the Celtics prevailing in the 4th, snapping the Pistons’ 13-game win streak, tied for their franchise record.

Ball don't lie. Cunningham misses the third FT. The Celtics are clinging to a 115-114 lead with 2.4 seconds left. Pritchard to the line at the other end.
They're ruling that a shooting foul. Cade Cunningham to the line with a chance to tie the game. Celtics lead 115-112 with 3.8 seconds left. Bad call. No way he was in his shooting motion.

Scheierman fouls out on the intentional foul. He gave the Celtics great minutes off the bench.

13 points
5/7
Plus, good on-ball and help defense and effort on the glass that helped earn him 30 minutes today.

One of the best games of his career. He has taken a meaningful step forward this season.

Tough take by Jaylen Brown. He turns the corner on Jalen Duren, then finishes through the contact. He tacks on the extra point at the line. The Celtics lead 108-105 with 1:37 left.

Derrick White wants the cup.

He had 14 points on 4/8 shooting in the third quarter, including going 3/5 from beyond the arc.

The Celtics lead the Pistons 86-83 entering the final frame.

That's Scheierman's fourth foul. He's been awesome today. Mazzulla's keeping him in for now.
November 26, 2025 at 11:58 PM
The Celtics jumped out to a 9-0 run to start the second quarter. They open the third outscoring the Pistons 10-3. Boston leads 67-61 early in the second half.

Jalen Duren goes to the scorer's table, and Mazzulla quickly subs Amari Williams back into the game. The rookie has given the Celtics quality minutes against a tough Pistons front court.
November 26, 2025 at 11:10 PM
Mazzulla's gonna take Scheierman's word that his pass got tipped. The Celtics are taking a timeout to challenge the turnover. Tied at 35 with 8:41 remaining in the first half.

Good minutes from Baylor Scheierman off the bench. He's got eight points, knocked down a pair of 3s, and he's playing well on and off the ball on defense.

Scheierman also just fired up the crowd by diving for loose ball, then flipping it behind his back to Minott in transition.

Against a Celtics opponent missing Neemias Queta, the Pistons produced 18 points in the paint in the first quarter. They also turned five offensive rebounds into seven second-chance points. Detroit leads 30-24.
