I'm Christina Bohannan, and I'm running to represent Iowa's 1st Congressional District. It's time someone put Iowa first.

It’s worse than we thought:

While health insurance premiums will double on average, click on the link below to see that premiums are set to TRIPLE in district IA-01– for example, premiums for a 60-year-old couple here will go from $602 to $2,024.

Which Congressional Districts Could See the Greatest ACA Premium Payment Increases?
If the enhanced premium tax credits expire this year, the impact on ACA enrollees’ premium payments will vary by income, age, and geography. Among the five congressional districts with the highest pre...

An overwhelming majority of adults (78%) want Congress to extend the ACA tax credits to save their premiums from doubling or, in some cases, tripling.

Yet, Miller-Meeks is following her party bosses instead of the people she is supposed to represent.
bohannaniowa.bsky.social
Over 40% of people under the age of 30 say they are barely getting by. 6 million people under 35 get health insurance through the ACA. Because MMM voted to double their premiums, it is estimated that that HALF of them will have to drop their insurance. This is WRONG.

Wild tariffs, billionaire tax cuts, and trade wars killing Iowa's ag economy--which Miller-Meeks has supported over and over--have put Iowa at high risk of recession.

Yet TODAY, her party bosses finalized a $20B bailout of Argentina, which took our biggest trading partner.
bohannaniowa.bsky.social
The government has been shut down for over a week, and Miller-Meeks is still ignoring her constituents’ pleas not to double their insurance premiums, as well as warnings from healthcare providers that Medicaid cuts could force hospital closures.

We deserve so much better, Iowa.
bohannaniowa.bsky.social
She cut people’s healthcare, and she doubled our premiums. But now SHE is playing the victim.

In all of Miller-Meeks’s complaining about Iowans being upset with her, do you think she has ever once stopped to consider that cutting people’s healthcare was, you know, a big deal?
bohannaniowa.bsky.social
MTG is right about this — and she is willing to push back on her party for the sake of her constituents.

Why won’t MMM show some guts and fight for us?

It’s been two years since the October 7 attack. I continue to keep the innocent victims and families affected by that day—and all the days that have followed—in my thoughts and prayers. I hope that the two sides will finally begin to work in good faith toward peace.

"When [am I] gonna host a town hall? When hell freezes over" - Rep Miller-Meeks

We’re on day 6 of the shutdown. Miller-Meeks got us into this by cutting healthcare to give billionaires a tax break.

Now, she says it costs too much to help ordinary Iowans afford health insurance premiums — and she would rather keep the government shut down than negotiate.

Had the honor of speaking with over 100 voters at a five county candidate forum representing Iowa, Johnson, Keokuk, Washington, and Louisa counties.

At a time when so much is uncertain, it’s more important than ever for leaders to show up and talk directly with Iowans.
bohannaniowa.bsky.social
Day 5 of asking Miller-Meeks to actually put Iowans first and negotiate for lower healthcare costs.
bohannaniowa.bsky.social
We are on Day 4 of the government shutdown, and Miller-Meeks is STILL fighting to double your healthcare premiums instead of negotiating to lower them and reopen the government.

In Congress, I promise to represent Iowans, not follow party bosses.
bohannaniowa.bsky.social
My healthcare story isn’t unique; everyone has one.

We live in the wealthiest country in the world and yet families across the country are losing everything trying to pay for healthcare.

I’m running for Congress so these stories become rare, not routine.

Iowa City, I just came to say HELLO! 👋
bohannaniowa.bsky.social
We only got here because Miller-Meeks and co. took the unprecedented step of cutting healthcare for millions of Americans and doubling premiums for millions more.

Miller-Meeks can end the shutdown NOW by negotiating to restore healthcare to working families.
bohannaniowa.bsky.social
Miller-Meeks’ choice should be easy. She can vote to lower Iowans’ healthcare premiums AND reopen the government at the same time. It would be a win-win for her constituents. So why is this hard for her??”

Manufactured home are meant to be a safe, affordable housing option for families & seniors. I know, because I was raised in a mobile home.

I was proud to stand with Johnson Co Residents United against unsafe conditions and rent increases from out of state private equity firms.

The Eastern Iowa Rural Revival Forum is democracy at its best!

No stump speeches, just candidates answering voters’ questions — open to anyone regardless of political party.

It’s time we elect leaders who show up and answer to the public — and we know that is not Miller-Meeks.

Our healthcare system is broken. We must lower drug prices, reverse Medicaid cuts, and expand Medicare to cover dental, vision, and hearing.

@millermeeks has taken over $600,000 from the drug and insurance industries and votes their way, not ours. It’s time for new leadership.

Another year, another fantastic Iowa City Homecoming Parade!

It was great seeing so many familiar faces — and new ones as well. Your energy and excitement keep me going!

Iowans are fired up to elect a representative who actually puts Iowa first.

Excited to to be walking in the Iowa City Homecoming Parade! Hoping for a Hawkeye win this weekend! 🖤💛

The Trump admin is imposing a whopping 100% tariff on drug imports. MMM has voted:

1) to protect tariffs three times
2) against allowing Medicare to negotiate for lower costs
3) against capping insulin costs at $35/month for seniors

Thank MMM for higher drug prices.

U.S. to impose 100% tariff on branded, patented drugs unless firms build plants locally, Trump says
The measure will not apply to companies building drug manufacturing plants in the U.S., Trump added.
