tbh same, it's was a hunch and a lot of overexposeed light :)

hell yeah!
It's probably thanks to the cinematography trick of having a very strong light source off the camera. This strong light source creates nice core shadow on the character, and nice bounced light thanks to the sink reflecting a lot of it back to the character :D

Depends a lot on your approach to art tbh.
I'm almost-an-engineer by education and books, theory, and such helped me a lot. I vibed a lot with Sinix design and Design cinema on YouTube.

Experimenting a lot with brushes and values while painting on only 2 layers, WITH a time limit. It was tough, but I'm happy with how it turned out!
