Solitary and reclusive ape descendant, often found semi-submerged. Mediocre surfer. Ju-jitsu novice. Bone Razor bassist/vocalist. Goldfinch caterer.
After a week off work given over mostly to bathroom renovations, I am not moving from this spot until these books are read; this album has had at least 3 plays through, and my eyeballs are floating in tea.

All the best from Bone Razor!! Massive thanks to everyone who came down to see us play; bought a CD or t-shirt, or streamed us in 2025. We'll be back in 2026 with new tunes and (even) worse craic. Nice mind!

Constructive feedback from colleagues at work today that This Corrosion by The Sisters of Mercy does not belong on a Christmas playlist. Choral singing, harpsichord, strings, organ... what could be more seasonal? At 9.5 minutes it also represents excellent juke box value.

Hey now, hey now, now...

Bumped into an amateur photographer on the beach at Druridge a couple of weeks ago. Turns out - unbeknownst to us - he'd taken a photo of Stu and I out surfing a couple of years back and won a competition with the photo. Jimmy Morse from Northumberland, go and check out his stuff on Faffbook 👍

Another sunrise over the North Sea. Too bumpy for paddleboarding; not bumpy enough for surfing. Nonetheless, an excellent morning.

Another sunrise off the Northumberland coast. Never gets old.

Lovely, peaceful morning paddleboarding up the Northumberland coast with my surf buddy Stu. Brain reset for the week. Nice mind.

After noticing a lot of pollution on this stretch of the River Coquet in Northumberland back in late Spring (dead fish, frogs and white powder encrusted rocks); I decided to do the #BigRiverWatch and #WaterBlitz pollution testing here. It looked much improved, but we'll see when the results are in.

The four corners of Dunstanburgh Castle on the Northumberland coast. Built in 1313 by Earl Thomas - a rival to Edward II - mostly to spoil the view from the then royalist castle at Bamburgh. Good that those with power and wealth these days are so much more sensible... hmmm...

Finishing off Sunday with a misty evening solo surf at Druridge Bay, Northumberland. Reflecting on how ridiculously lucky I am to live in this beautiful part of the world.

How Nathan got through this gig without a bass headstock shaped bruise is beyond me 😂

How to fit an entire rock band behind a door in an ex-shoe shop. Cheers to Billy and Jamie for hosting us at The Lounge Bar, Amble... and a massive thanks to everyone who came down to support... first time we've had an audience spill out onto the street...

Lovely trip into deepest, darkest Northumberland with daughter and son-in-law today. This little stop off is right at the beginning of the hike.

Long walk to the waves this morning at Druridge Bay, so here are some pictures of a lovely deserted beach. Caught some lovely 3 to 4 footers in the rain on the longboard, then back home for breakfast.

Looking forward to cramming ourselves into this excellent but small venue

Exactly the kind of 'radical' thinking required to save our rivers. Interesting and oddly glass half-full discussion covering topics suck as Vulture Capitalism and wondering if rivers - as an entity - are alive.
