The snow and cold temperatures kept our feeders very busy today. Suet nuggets seemed to be very popular!

At any time, we probably had 20-25 birds at our feeders and on our deck floor except when hawks were nearby in the trees.

We scattered seeds and nuts on our snow-covered deck this morning—about half an inch fell overnight. The birds are incredibly active.

A "tree of life" full of #cormorants, a painted #storks nest, and black-crowned night #herons.

During a walk around Rabindra Sarobar in South #Kolkata, I discovered this remarkable tree serving as a sanctuary for birds.

A short video from yesterday of a king vulture at the Carolina Raptor Center.

I learned that these vultures poop on their own legs apparently to cool themselves and to kill off bacteria!
