Sharing an Irish bookshop for Day 1 of #IrishBookWeek, the mighty Charlie Byrne’s in Galway #BookSky
@faberbooks.bsky.social hey, would it possible for me to get a proof copy of Lucy Caldwell’s Devotions book please??
In other bookish news, today I’ve been carrying around, in one coat pocket Ishiguro’s The Buried Giant, and in the other pocket, The Oxford Book of Carols. I have big pockets!
What a powerfully emotive title and cover! So excited for this Lucy
Today my feed has blessed me with Cillian Murphy discussing books that should be on school curriculums, the cast of Hammet revealing their favourite Shakespeare plays, and the fact The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe was published 75 years ago today! Its been a very bookish day, and I’m here for it
Kafka’s Metamorphisis is a short work of unbearable sadness. I’m telling you this cos the cat doesn’t care!
Aaaaah I recognise that tune but can’t put a name to it! How utterly splendid though, and so glad you remembered to share the joy of it!
It’s been two years since my last parkrun, and today I ventured on my 53rd. Today’s venue, Portrush
Today I’ll mostly be channelling my inner farmer from Shaun the Sheep!
Day 15, a much brighter day in many ways with a family trip to a farm for #30DaysWild
I’ll be honest, #30dayswild is not meant to be a chore. It’s a fun and necessary way to get outside and appreciate the world around us. But day 14 was tough, and we really needed to make the effort today, and I’m glad we did, especially for our youngest who enjoyed the rockpools
Embracing nature on day 13 of #30DaysWild
Some wild reading for day 12 of #30dayswild
A spot of outdoor reading on day 10 of #30dayswild
A run in the wilds of Summer! Day 9 of #30DaysWild
We never forget to breathe, but we rarely focus on doing it. So today, we took 60 secs out to do a little bit of outdoor deep breathing for day 8 of #30dayswild
Back in Belfast Cathedral today for the first time in what feels like an age! Choral Evensong for Pentecost and #Gibbons400
Orlando Gibbons died on Whitsunday, 5th June 1625, so I’ll be playing in church not one, but two of his hymn tunes during the service, including this rather apt one for Pentecost
And such a joy to see them there!
Cleaning up and refilling the bird feeder for day 7 of #30DaysWild
Outdoor exercises for day 6 of #30dayswild
Day 5 and we’re mindful that these 2 appliances are used frequently in our house each day. Turning the temperature down on both! #WorldEnvironmentDay #30dayswild
Today marks the 400th anniversary since the death of my favourite composer, Orlando Gibbons
