Poll after poll shows people care deeply about wildlife and want it protected.

Instead, we’ve had months of nature-blaming rhetoric and pushes to sidestep environmental law.

This flies in the face not only of what the public wants...but the Government’s own manifesto.

Last night the Government steamrollered its Planning Bill through, slamming the door on vital protections for nature.

They said it would be a ‘win-win’ for the economy and nature.

But in reality, they’ve pushed nature into last place.

Our teacher read this to us in top infants. It was the first novel taht I pestered my Mum to buy. I still have that copy now. I reread it this year. Such a lovely book.
On this day 24th November 1877 the novel Black Beauty was first published.
Anna Sewell said she wrote the novel "to induce kindness, sympathy, and an understanding treatment of horses"

It's Stir up Sunday but, as I wasn't here to soak the ingredients last night, I'll soak them tonight and make the pudding tomorrow. 8 hours is always such a lot of steaming! As you can tell, this recipe has been well used over the years.
