Kind of rushed this one out while distracted by some other life commitments but managed to sneak in an awesome Spanish language monster-in-your-pocket monster encyclopedia. The audio is a bit boomy on my air pods but sounds good from phone speakers... #nes #gamemusic www.youtube.com/watch?v=xmv6...

More screens and sprites from Blade Land the unreleased PCE Mother inspired RPG, cars zooming around the map are seen. It brags about having 1500 screens and adds a subtitle to the title "Blade Land: Tokyo City Quest" ... #pcengine

Omega Fighter was going to be released for both PC Engine and Mega Drive but never happened. I see at least this Chris Covell site here captured it. Deserves NECRetro entry and Wikipedia updates probably... www.chrismcovell.com/secret/sp_un...

I didn't know Everywhere by Fleetwood Mac has such a cute single cover...one of my favorite songs of theirs with the light plucky bass line and relaxed vibes

I don't see it well documented that Yuurei-kun (幽霊君 / MSX) was listed as to-be-ported to PC Engine but never happened. #pcengine

Indiana Jones card game from 1989 went on sale 7/15/1989 for 2000 yen (just saw this info in a magazine and looked up to see if it is a port of an English version or not, seems like not??) #indianajones boardgamegeek.com/image/760741...

Don't see a lot of info about Blade Land the unreleased PC Engine game from Big Club (article says they are renaming to Nihon Soft Hanbai), it looks almost like Splatter World but definitely Mother influenced...wonder why it didn't get released www2u.biglobe.ne.jp/~comefx99/gm... #pcengine

I mean I think it is amazing that things like this Artist Station tool came out but imagine that it is sort of them predicting people would want to have Miiverse style social interaction but it was too early, market wasn't ready for it, it is sad to see sort of greatness and creativity not work out

How it’s going in the audio engineering industry sounds like a shit show - Japan will probably be first in line to throw these people under the bus for shitty AI solutions and then have to crawl back to beg them to work again when they realize they need human edge to complete over slop

I feel like in hindsight you can write a lot about the mistakes that were made with business decisions but also need context about the companies and the company cultures...NEC obviously had a techie flair with several key leaders that were obsessed with looking forward (imagine 5 or 6 Gunpei Yokois)

Gamest winning the Namco "Dirt Fox" magazine on magazine journalist tournament is a pretty nice validation of being the ultimate arcade magazine in the mix. Here is Lord BBH Push to Reject of Dirt Fox www.youtube.com/watch?v=CBiv...

I remember seeing "Dragon Half" when I was a kid but don't remember much about it...I like the cute chibi characters on her hand/shoulder including a cute critter long before Pokemon and Hamtaro (this is from 1990). Haven't seen Slayers since back then either...

Insane 81 page "software house marathon" in just a single issue of magazine, it would take forever to try to upload all the interesting things in these magazines! Completely overwhelming...as example do you want to learn about ZOOM the staff behind Lagoon / Phalanx etc? Should I spend time on this?
