He took a deep, shaky breath and held it for a second or two before letting it all out. At least the fear was mostly gone, but he had some similar emotions; it was still scary and embarrassing to admit how he felt.

Well THAT shut her up right quick. Instead of the dry laugh that she had let out just before, she was staring at him. It was probably hard to tell WHAT kind of emotion was on her face right now.

It was like a mix of bafflement, disbelief, and something conflicting in there.

Not much reason for her to be afraid. Death has no reason to fear, and another deity of death isn't any more of a threat.

Well I hope he is prepared for her to laugh. . . because she absolutely isn't going to believe he is serious for even a MOMENT.

Well at worst? She might laugh in his face thinking it's a joke. She never found herself to be loveable in a romantic way, not even a platonic way for that matter.

Calling death a 'friend' isn't exactly the norm, and especially for a deity as aggressive as herself.
