I think it is our time to hurt, it has taken me a while to understand it but watching how supportive MAGA was over trump’s actions has shown me that we are morally bankrupt, at least half of us are, living with the illusion that we are invincible. We must prepare for the pain that is to come.

So i find it rather hypocritical when ultra republicans are preoccupied with the trans community,tik tok as a chinese app or even immigration , but support an app that is actually harmful merely because he is an “american “conservative” now. Wasnt even actually born in america.

Take this app and x, this being more mundane as far as aggresive content such as violence, P*rn, racist rhetoric etc. the issue isnt allowing free speech but when the classification of harmful or not to the people. But the catch is, they decide for us rather than we voting on it.

Is one app more more left leaning than the other absolutely… but if you look at the content on both apps youll find one is ultimately more harmful than the other and yet it is less regulated because the oligarch is american. Which i believe it is bs. So where do we draw the line for freedom of speec

I think all apps are a game of manipulation but it is driven by the market for the most part… what yhe people most adhere to, but if the regulators are corrupt and there isnt oversight than an app can become harmful. I dont think tik tok was as harmful as say X. Objectively

So AOC goes on to explain the process for the voting on the tik tok ban and what i gathered was that the democratic party folded and voted and was merely expecting a forced sale scenario. Then it appears everyone was scrambling after realizing the impact it had. Say what you may i rather like AOC.

So i would like to really understand what values are important to right wing constituents who advocated so hard for our first amendment and claimed the left were supressing our freedom of speech but then support the ban on tik tok (following their leaders, i guess idk). “Data breach” umm yea okay.

I think it is larger than that, everything from connectivity and trasparency on how we perceive media, to the palestinian conflict ( which i am absolutely sure men of power bribed their way into proposing this ban), they are treating us like it is the 50’s and we are just mindless and oblivious

I do agree with this merely because majority of trumps fan base is white and are “conservatives” whatever that means now and days… the only way they would have considered anyone else is having to address the issues trump did but in an open and honest way without any false narratives.

Which by the way was the origin of misinformation and “fake news”, dirty politics led him to victory. Though i feel sure democrats dont have many options, the ones they did they fumbled bad.. such as nominating kamala to be the next president. Merely cause of the timing of it all. Just wasnt good.

The further right the conservative party shifted the more compromising the democratic had to become.. and i think that ultimately was their demise. Of course for the preservation of democracy one needs to keep peace and stick to the rules. But since trumps first presidency…

It is absolutely abhorrent, yhe dirty politics but what i found most shocking is how more than half of the country condoned this behaviour. Which means that fundamentally as a country we are self involved trickster that would do or say anything to get ahead.
