Physicist, airburst specialist, planetary defender, & CSI Fellow. I'm critical of the Younger Dryas impact hypothesis (YDIH) which has strong links to global warming denial, creationism, & pseudoarchaeology. It relies on misinformation & fake peer review.

Longtime defender of evolution. Critic of creationism. Communicator of climate science. Exposer of climate denial & misinformation. My favorite BS to debunk is the Younger Dryas impact hypothesis (YDIH) which combines these topics with pseudoarchaeology & misrepresents my own research on airbursts.

Is there anything more American than skimming obscene amounts of money off of a charity purported to exist to help the disadvantaged? Well, churches have, too!

Franklin Graham gives himself $720,000/year from one of his charities called "Samaritan's Purse," with, clearly, the emphasis on the purse.

I've been trying to warn people in non-profit social media not to use engagement bait questions any more. I understand algorithms and why people feel the need to do it but you just end up with a scammy odor on your account because of the proliferation of this type of account.

I won’t be spending a dime at Target, Home Depot or Amazon this week.

Target is a no-go zone for me. I fully received the message when they told me my money wasn’t shit to them.

Home Depot is DEAD to me too. Sicking ICE on peaceful productive workers turns my stomach.

And Amazon. Well

UC Berkeley is still trying to get me to donate $ as the parent of an alum. Um, no. Not for this.
UC Berkeley (1) fires losing football coach, (2) will continue to pay him $10.9 million, (3) hires prominent anti-vax wacko as interim coach. Great work, California! #highereducationpriorities @governor.ca.gov
Cal makes an extremely unlikely, controversial choice for fill-in coach

If people want to understand why American politics went bananas in 2012, the reason is that the moderate black President took a modest but consequential step toward decoupling healthcare from employment and every billionaire immediately poured their entire portfolio into race-hate media

I swore an oath to the Constitution in 1986. I've upheld it through 25 years of service and every day since I retired.

If Trump's trying to intimidate me, it won’t work. I’ve given too much to our country to be silenced by bullies who care more about power than the Constitution.

Buy local. Avoid Amazon & bigbox chains. Boycott major corporations. Recycle, re-use, make do. Make billionaires feel our pain.
We spent a year investigating billionaires for @washingtonpost.com.

We found: the wealthiest 100 Americans gave $1.1 billion to influence the 2024 elections — 140x more than they did in 2000. And almost all of that giving boosted Republicans.

I hope that this means no more corporate subsidies, and that billionaires will have to start paying their share of tax.
BREAKING: The House of Representatives voted 285–98 in favor of a resolution condemning socialism.
