Roberts descendants were among the 150-plus people who packed the newly renovated building to mark this milestone. Students wowed the crowd with musical performances, and Mayor Michelle Wu and Superintendent Mary Skipper spoke about unity, renewal, and making Boston a home for everyone.

Josh Rodriguez has spent the last 10 years as a custodian in BPS and the last two at Josiah Quincy Upper School. He has good relationships with students and his fellow staff members, and they appreciate the dedication he shows each day to keeping the kitchen clean and tidy as his main priority.

This year's symposium emphasized practices to deepen student connections through individualized relationships; coordinating an effective school attendance team; and strategies for parents and caregivers to support students who avoid going to school for various reasons.

It will offer a space for participants to decompress, engage in recreational opportunities, grab a meal, and socialize. NExT is all about giving every student the tools, confidence & community they need to thrive beyond the classroom 💪📚✨

NExT will also provide support for learning life skills like navigating the community independently, exploring community based employment, and exploring community based recreation and leisure activities.

NExT is @bostonschools.boston.gov comprehensive postgraduate transition program that provides equitable access to transition services for all students regardless of their unique learning style.

@bostonschools.boston.gov launched the Navigating Employment and Transition program or NExT, to provide further assistance to postsecondary students with disabilities as they continue on the path to self-sufficiency and self-reliance.
