A Kansas State Blog- Carrying the Banner High - now with 100% more cloudless atmosphere
It was 20-20 after Q1, but the K-State women exploded for an 89-61 win over Lamar at Bramlage.

Double-double for Jordan Speiser with 11p/10r, 20 for Taryn Sides, 18 for Izela Arenas, and 10 for Brandie Harrod.

Next is a Thursday vs South Dakota, the first half of a doubleheader (men play Cal late)

Another nice night from PJ Haggerty, and some other folks helped out as the Cats shake off the jitters and roll over Bellarmine 98-71.

We're late again; sorry about that. We're working it out.
Kansas State Wildcats Assert Dominance over Bellarmine Knights 98-71 | Bring On The Cats
The Wildcats get another good game from PJ Haggerty (a double-double) and put together a complete, if not perfect, game.

It was ugly, but a near double-up fourth quarter saved the Wildcat women in an absolute slog of a 46-44 win at SMU.

Nastja Claessens led the way with 8 points, 11 boards, and 4 steals. Gina Garcia also had 8 points. Taryn Sides pitched in 7.

Yes, this recap is egregiously late. Life got in everyone's way.

HUNDO.

K-State women obliterate Omana 100-35.

18 pts for Izela Arenas, 13 for Aniya Foy, 12 for Nastja Claessens, 11 for Janessa Cotton...

...and 15 for Taryn Sides along with 12 assists, 7 boards, annd 4 steals.

"It was okay, I guess." -- Jeff Mittie (no, really)

We're through 3. Omaha finally figured out how to score points, but K-State still won the quarter by 8 and lead 73-24.

16 so far for Arenas; Taryn Sides is 4-5 from the floor for 11, with 6 boards and 9 assists.

And two steals and no turnovers.
November 4, 2025 at 2:01 AM
Some intros for the uninitiated:
9 pts for Taryn Sides (you already know her)
9 for Izela Arenas (yes, Gilbert's daughter)
9 for Jenessa Cotton (stolen from Duke)
5 for Nastja Claessens (she's from Belgium)
5 for Tess Heal (she's an Aussie)
5 for Jordan Speiser and Aniya Foy (they're true frosh)
How's the post-Lee/Sundell era looking for the K-State women?

They're up 50-9 over Omaha at halftime and NOBODY IS IN DOUBLE FIGURES YET.

This was a game that happened, and which K-State could have won if they exercised ball safety.

Recap and stuff:
Turnovers help Texas Tech Red Raiders beat Kansas State Wildcats 43-20 | Bring On The Cats
Kansas State was plagued by turnovers in a disaster that put them back under .500.

Morton to Douglas for 19 and a score.

43-20 Tech, 2:54 to go.
November 1, 2025 at 11:01 PM
Johnson fumbles, John Curry -- no, really, THAT'S his name -- scoops and scores.

Then Johnson throws a pick, and even with 4:19 to go that's gonna do it.

36-20 Tech.
November 1, 2025 at 10:59 PM
Stupidest drive ever ends with a 9-yard TD pass to Garrett Oakley, but the 2-point attempt fails.

29-20 Tech, 12:44 Q4.
November 1, 2025 at 10:24 PM
38-yard pass from Johnson to Tibbs got K-State down to the 8, but after a holding call the Cats are at the 18.
November 1, 2025 at 10:16 PM
End 3rd, Joe Jackson just broke one for 20 to get into Tech territory, giving the defense that break they needed.

Still 29-14.
November 1, 2025 at 10:14 PM
1-yard TD pass from Behren Morton to Caleb Douglas. 29-14 Tech, 1:23 Q3.

This isn't really the defense's fault. They've gotten off the field after third down six times.

It'd be nice if they actually got to rest before having to go back out.
November 1, 2025 at 10:07 PM
The defense holds deep, forcing Tech to settle for another 29-yarder. Cats trail 22-14, 6:35 Q3.
November 1, 2025 at 9:51 PM
56-yard pass to Brown, 18-yard TD run by Johnson.

19-14 Tech, 9:51 Q3.
November 1, 2025 at 9:39 PM
41-yard TD run by J'Koby Williams after another K-State fumble.

19-7 Red Raiders, 12:54 Q3
November 1, 2025 at 9:31 PM
Last play of the first half is a 54-yard field goal by Stone Harrington, and Tech heads into the locker room with a 12-7 lead over the good guys.

Fine performance by the defense so far, to be honest, but the offense... ugh.
November 1, 2025 at 9:05 PM
1-yard TD run by Cameron Dickey after a Brown fumble and Tech leads 9-7 after a doinked PAT. 3:45 Q2
November 1, 2025 at 8:49 PM
Err, 29 yard, typo, sorry
Tech had 1st-and-goal from the 5, and had to settle for a 19-yard field goal after Romaine and Purnell dropped Morton for a sack.

A terrible spot leaves K-State with 3rd-and-1 instead of a first down on Johnson's legs as the first quarter comes to a close. Still 7-0 Cats.
November 1, 2025 at 8:18 PM
4th-and-4, Uso Seumalo sacks Morton for a 14-yard loss. Cats take over at the Tech 39.

7-0 Cats, 3:21 Q1

46-yard touchdown run for Avery Johnson!
