My passion is seeking out the remote seldom trod places. Backpacking and Wild Camping. Work in nature conservation. ME/CFS limits me these days.

Roystone rocks are pretty special.

Some great spots on the fringes of the Peak. Brassington is a nice village too.

Treated to a rather lovely sky this evening.

Despite living only 20 mins away for 30 years it’s the first time I’ve visited!

It’s one of my new favourite off the beaten track locations that isn’t too far away.

Mr Rimmington said his diet and lifestyle had improved since the incident a year ago and his advice was "Haribo in moderation". 😂

A very pleasant slow exploration of Rainster Rocks this afternoon. It’s just outside the Peak District National Park so not a soul about on this beautifully warm and sunny Saturday.

Ended up being a chilly night but a lovely dawn.

What a beautiful Monday morning.

Boo to work! Thankfully I don’t work Mondays.

An absolute stunner, the clouds were in the right position for a change!

A stunning high pitch this evening on the Howgill Fells. There is barely a breeze and the temperature is dropping, possibly a frost by dawn.

Cheers, hopefully the last of the day walkers are back down in the valley now. Not a breath of wind now at 600m.

It’s at Great Swindale, I don’t think many people go up there.

Love the Howgills. Pitched up on a summit tonight.

Shapes and light in the Howgills.

It’s lovely up here today apart from the showers this afternoon, wasn’t expecting them!

An acceptable spot for a good long sit.

A peaceful camp in an unfrequented valley last night. The rain came in heavy at dusk its sound lulling me to an early sleep. I lazed around until the sun hit the tent this morning. Its warmth didn’t come until quite late due to being at the bottom of a narrow steep sided valley.

I highly recommend the Vale of Belvoir, close to Nottingham and very beautiful.

There are some nice spots, especially to the east where the city quickly turns to quite rural countryside.
bpackingbongos.bsky.social
Lambley Dumbles, literally on the outskirts of the city.

Quite possibly the only waterfall in Nottinghamshire.

It’s in Derbyshire, some nice green views rather than concrete which is always nice.

No sunset but a good sky this evening.
