To claim that machines will soon render human labor obsolete while simultaneously fighting to dismantle the very social safety nets that would allow people to survive that obsolescence is to admit that the goal is not abundance for all, but a new serfdom.

The paradox at the core of techno-capitalism is that they can’t be telling the truth and behaving as they do without it being monstrous. If the claims about AI, robotics, and exponential automation are real, then the social contract must evolve accordingly.

When I say neurodivergence is Gaia’s gambit, what I'm really describing is the biosphere fighting back against the monoculture of the mind that the Endarkenment cultivated the last century and a half. The same monoculture that created fascism, consumerism, and the illusion of infinite growth.
