The US citizen I mentioned in the other article was arrested and detained in Alabama. He was not traveling abroad when it happened. Another was arrested in Arizona and in California. That’s why I mentioned keeping papers on you at all times. Keep up.

You also don’t detain someone during a final citizenship hearing over a FORM discrepancy, especially someone with no criminal record and who has been a positive part of their community for years. You give them a chance to fix it. You seem to be very misguided and misinformed.

No, it doesn't. Plenty of citizens and legal immigrants have been detained for days, sometimes months after producing proof of citizenship or legal status. You are out of touch, dude.

It is what they are being told on every right-wing echo chamber media outlet. They are not burning down the city. This is not 2020. Tensions got high, and there were isolated incidents of rock throwing and some cars burning, but not to the tune of 2k troops.
Dems problem is they are ill prepared, but a government shut down would’ve accelerated the dismantling of the government. We are screwed either way, but that scenario would have been putting accelerant on the fire and they have zero negotiating power. Dems would’ve been blamed for it all.
He is also ignoring the courts. I am not happy with Schumer and think he needs to step down, but shutting down the government would have meant Trump and Elon deciding what is open/closed and who gets paid/doesn’t. And then Rs could’ve decided to keep it shut down indefinitely & not strike any deal.
Trump is sidestepping the Senate and the House. He is using EO authority for a majority of his agenda. They have used the filibuster where possible, but Trump has been pushing the limits on every legal mechanism, including the judiciary. Their options are limited unless they become lawless, too.
